Who Remains in the "Sinatra" Mold?
Sinatra, gone. Dean, gone. Sammy, gone. Nat King Cole, gone. Bobby Darin, gone. Lou Rawls, gone. Mel Torme, gone. Ray Charles, gone.
Tony Bennett, in his twilight years. Tom Jones, long in the tooth. Englebert, ditto. Paul Anka, never rose to that same level. Steve Lawrence, achieved fame with Eydie Gorme, they are in their autumn years at least.
What male, saloon, ballad, jazz, standards singers are there today?
Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr., Bobby Caldwell and maybe Kevin Mahogany come to mind.
Rod Stewart has entered the genre.
Come Back To Me - George Miserlis is great.
The Lady is a Tramp - Buddy Greco is great.
Who else can you think of who can occupy that niche?

Marilyn Manson might qualify if he stops eating babies. Or I might be thinking of Clay Aiken, not sure.

Harry Connick, Jr. Buble' has a lisp when he sings live, as did Bobby Darin. Paul Anka is in his 60's but he also does a lot of standards and wrote for Sinatra and Sammy

Whoever remains in the "Sinatra" mold should probably get out soon, I doubt there's much air left.

No one even gets close to sinatra these days( he was on $125 a week when he joined the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra in 1939). Hes was a one off.
My favourite current singer is Harry Connick Jr, Buble is rubbish IMO!!!!

Tony Desare? I don't know much Sinatra, but this is my best guess. He seems much like the Bobby Caldwell type.

You got Frank. I got Sammy.
Where's Dino?
And Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford?
Although the last two were just adjunct professors of cool.

I really WANT to like Buble more. But first there's his name. Blue Blay? That's like a a joke that gets stuck in your throat like a sneeze gets stuck in your nose. It's somewhere in there but it just won't come out.
And then he is so white bread. It's like Donnie Osmond's little brother who pretended he was ole Blue (BLAY) Eyes as a tyke and he walked around the house with a hat and a candy cigarettes hanging from his lip when his Mom's Bridge club came by and they all thought he was 'darling' and he just never grew out of it.
But he does have the voice.
