The Sharks are also doing remarkably well given how many people are injured.

So are you trying to say that the team didn't suck for a long time before this current run? I'm confused as to how what you are saying contradicts what I said. Making the playoffs in the early 90's was not hard. About 3/4 of teams got in. During the 70s and 80s, the team was bad. You can't argue that point. They were a bad team. Before the league expanded in 1967, they were good, but not amazing. Especially considering there were only 6 teams.
My point is that this era of complete Red Wings dominance goes back about 15 years and that's it. Before that the team has always been more or less average with the same ups and downs any sports franchise has. With a 20 year long down period right before the current one. It's not like the Wings have this amazing history of dominance that goes back 100 years.
Look, we all know the Wings are a good team... it's because of their twisted pact of evil with the dark prince of the underworld. The team and it's fans will get theirs when bell tolls and it's time for the Devil to collect his souls. An eternity of unfathomable suffering awaits for those who choose to align themselves with such unholy power.
