Over ten months ago, I fixed a sig that a member was having trouble with. And threw in some amusing text, so he'd be sure to rehost a fixed version himself.

But he left the sig in my care. So I had some fun, turning it into a rotating script that returned 1 of 6 versions. The sigs look much the same, but the messages change. Over the months, creativity struck many times. The messages got crazier, and the count has reached 43.

Still it went unnoticed. A rehost would have stopped my advertising to the Ferrengi, cemetaries, breweries, fruit farmers, Matrix wimps, pessimists, plumbers, housewives, and VW owners. Along with numerous slogans giving life advice.

In 51 days, it will have been a year. Obviously my imagination is not up to commercial standards - advertisers prefer messages that get noticed. I'd better keep the day job.

Maybe he is just as amused as you are, or just can't be bothered to change it. Is it even an active poster?

It is an image sig that changes on reload, and it is a member that posts somewhat frequently.

He only has 732 posts in the Lounge since the beginning of the year. Around 1,000 there since the sig got fixed up.

I didn't think the mystery would be this hard to solve. Unless everyone has turned sigs off, you'll see an example in most Lounge threads. And have for nearly a year.

Earlier I perused a bunch of Lounge threads from today without anything.

And telling me how many posts he made lately seems somewhat pointless too.

I feel like you could reveal its me at any moment because it seems so mysterious.

I have seen a lot of weird sigs, but none of them are rotating.

Is this rotation script really executed every time it's accessed?

Yes, some sigs auto-rotate in the same manner that clinically insane stars change with each page load.

I'm still laughing. That's an instant classic.

I took screenshots, so I could later create a nice thread with it.

In retrospect that really should have been obvious.

I'm not surprised it went unnoticed (by the forum) considering the source.

I noticed it a long time ago.

I figured it was uncharacteristically funny for him and thought a real rotating sig was above his head code-wise, but didn't think twice about it.

So, I have a few ideas. we should either open up this thread to user submitted ideas or (maybe later) start a thread in the lounge where we just post the slogans and see how long it takes him to catch on.

"Your Car Sucks",
"Your Opinion Sucks", and

I've added some new ones; total stands at 50 51 52.

Really thought this thread would draw the person's attention before now.

I hope nothing mean spirited. No offense, but some of the suggestions seemed a bit like baiting him, like "Your Car Sucks, Your Opinion Sucks, SUV LVR, Hoping for a Ban, and Of Secret Service Fame."

None of the suggestions made the cut, for the reasons you outlined. They focused on the sig owner.

My objective is humorous products/services/advice offered by the sig. Until he stops hosting it on me.

Honestly, the ones he's done so far are so much better than any of the suggestions in this thread, and they're all funny, and totally benign.

Let's just let him continue.
