Tried to resurrect an old thread, but I was told I wasn't allowed.

So, lets discuss Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty! To kick it off, check out a couple of vids:

Cinematic Teaser (Blizzard does the best cinematics in the biz, in my opinion... this one gives me chills)
http://www.giantbomb.com/starcraft-i...valry/17-1201/

Single Player Info & In-Game Clips

I cannot wait for this game to come out. It will consume me for a long while, I'm assuming.

Anyone want to speculate on the minimum system specs? I'm hoping I don't have to get a new computer, but I will if I have to!

Almost a month since posting and not one reply... I will reply just to say this is my most anticipated game in years. Actually can't think of one I've looked forward to more. I'm hoping my Macbook Pro will be up to playing it on reasonable specs, but it is a few revisions old by now and it might be time to upgrade..

I'm kind of bummed about the lack of LAN play. That and the fact that they're releasing it in tiny chunks and still delaying it until who-knows-when has kind of dampened my enthusiasm.

As for system specs, I'm guessing any Intel on the Mac side.

Removal of LAN support is stupid. My Comcrap is already sh*tty as all hell. I can't play games online already. I was really looking forward to a game I could play with my friends that doesn't require me to go online.

I bought Left 4 Dead and I still haven't gotten a chance to really play it. My 3000+ ms ping after 5PM prevents me.

If it's anything like the original, I'll play it way too much and nearly fail high school, or something.

To be fair, they're releasing it in fairly large chunks - the Terran campaign is described as being as long as all three campaigns in original Starcraft. Honestly, the original campaigns were too short in the original: Both the Protoss and the Zerg only fought themselves once, and the Terrans only had the Protoss once.

Ah, who am I kidding: anything they release I will play it and love it. I should probably try to get the old version going again: I did eventually buy it, but before then I had several different seed installs (the ones you could do to play over LAN only) and the resulting mess had issues. Transferring that installation to new Macs twice, and surviving the transition from OS 7.something to 10.5, was maybe more than I should expect of it.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Blizzard's still releasing patches for the old Starcraft, actually.

Yeah, I don't doubt you. I don't think there were any plans for SC II that were public knowledge in 2007.
