We are busy updating the store for you and will be back within the hour.
Apple Store is offline being updated...

Let's see if the new Powerbooks are out? (I HOPE)

Edited to say that it turned out that Apple was teasing us or not quite ready to update. You can read more here.

Hmmm, a very strange time to update indeed! A Thursday evening, and it's only 9pm in Cupertino, however it's past midnight here.

It says within the hour, so updates may actually be posted soon! New PowerBooks would be great, however, I don't see Apple doing any "major" updates this close to WWDC, but of course we've all been surprised before.

And just as a side note, I'm just chillin' in my bed typing this as my first post on my new baby, my 12" AlBook! It arrived Wednesday, but due to work I've had very little time to play with it besides the usual updating/tweaking...wow it's a wonderful machine!!!

The 12-inch machines are very nice.

If you decide to resell then you'll lose a lot less.

Anyway, yes, I'm chilling. Was about to turn in and now there's no way I can until I see what's going on.

I feel like a kid at Christmas when Apple does this.

Cool graphic - thanks!

Now, who wants to place bets on the Powerbooks being updated -- especially Titanium?

Yea or nay?

C'mon -- give your opinion!

Now or later?

Maybe they're updating for next week but *whatever* they were doing...

Apparently it's not meant for right now.

her is the screen shot of the leaked PM specs, apparantly, the entire line is going to 970, PB, iMac etc.... Who knows, people are claiming a hack job but I think the web team just uploaded the wrong gif and got their throats torn out as a result...Monday is going to be a VERY intersting day indeed...

I think this little "slip" was VERY carefully planned. All this Friday press before the Monday keynote...the entire electronics world will be watching.

My only problem with this is all the white space under the specs. Not very Apple like in design.

Also, the same image map has Power Mac G4 above G5 specs. Surely the same jpg/gif would say G5 all the way through.

No, the page consists of multiple images. Everything was correct except the small print with all the G5 goodies listed.

The style does seem a bit odd for Apple though, although mostly believable. We shall see on Monday.

The 12" was released in january, that's almost 6 months ago so it's about time for an update.

It may have been released in January, but most people didn't get them until quite a bit later. It seems a bit early for an update to me.

I'm sure no one will believe me... I have a friend who's an Apple Engineer and I asked him about the G5 specs. He told me the specs listed are wrong. He wouldn't tell me the speeds, all he said is "be prepared to soil your pants, they're even faster!"

You will know on Monday that I'm telling the truth. :-)

In some other international forums they made notice that the G5 page appeared to be a joke from a former employee of an agency Apple works with. One site even contacted Apple in Cupertino and they confirm that the specs are not the correct ones. Which ones they really are they will not reveal before WWDC.

I seriously doubt Apple would produce a desktop with three USB 2.0 ports. Sounds like a fraud to me.

Why? USB 2.0 is fully compatibility with USB 1.1 (devices). Apple comes out ahead by offering new technologies that don't require that we necessarily purchase new devices, but for those who do which to update, they get the option of USB 1.1, USB 2.0, Firewire 400 and Firewire 800.
