So, it would appear that Babylon 5 won’t have any more TV or straight-to-DVD spinoffs, according to J. Michael Straczynski himself (and a direct link to his original Usenet post itself).

Overall, whilst it is quite sad, I think he’s made the right choice. As Straczynski himself says:

I won’t repeat the criticisms I made of …Rangers in the BSG thread, but suffice to say, I couldn’t agree more with his sentiments on …Rangers and, to a lesser extent, TLT. Overall, I think B5 should be left as it is; with every visit to that universe, the original becomes more diluted.

Yeah, good decision.

Wise choice. B5 had the budget of a daytime soap opera, but managed to make something pretty damn impressive.

Sad to see that money can't buy quality or talent (I'm looking at you BSG and Episodes I-III)
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

The Lost Tales might have worked out as a series of short stories serialized in a magazine, but in video form, it felt pointless. The two stories were not "epic" enough to justify bringing in actors and a production team.

As for Legend of the Rangers, let us pretend that it was never made. It was awful.

That said, I would have liked to have seen Crusade survive beyond 13 episodes. The hints of what were to come could have made for a great companion to the original series.

Yes, we all know how you feel about BSG. I guess you'll say that their Emmy nominations are....anomalies?

Seriously, BSG is a great show. It's a shame you keep sh*tting on it every chance you get.

B5, to me, is a closed book. End of story. It's sad that there won't be any more stories, but that's OK, JMS did his job and did it well.

Oh.. *seriously* BSG is a great show? That changes everything! I love it now! It is no longer hyped, overrated, uber-geeky, poorly written wet fantasy of third rate television producers!!!

I so see it your way now!!!!!
