The movers will be here in a few hours. Our new house won't be ready 'til mid-August. In the meantime, most everything will be going into storage. The storage is only climate-controlled to 15-degrees below outside temperature.

We live in Arizona.

Question is, should I put my 42" Samsung EDTV into storage. Temps are likely to exceed 115, meaning at least 100 at the storage site. Could this harm an unused, unplugged, packed plasma TV?

Stuff like my computer (also a flat screen display) are going to my parents or my in-laws (will work off the laptop for the summer). Just didn't know whether the big TV should get the same kid gloves.

Thoughts!?

Posted this on the TiVo Community Forums first. Thought it was a natural place. No responses, so I guess not.

i'm sure you wont have any problems finding somebody to put themselves out by storing/watching yoru plasma for a short time, yeesh. I can send you my address if you get hard up. ;-)

anyway, i have a few of those that live in road cases non-stop, airtight and packed in foam, most of that time being slammed around on trucks and planes en route to and from shows. no temp controls at all, and no problems. the big thing is the ambient temps when its actually in operation, however i would still balk a bit at letting it sit and bake nonstop for for long periods of time with no relief.

shop around, there are tons of climate controlled storages to be found. it doesnt hafta be much, just enough to lower the temp and circulate the air a bit.
