School....bought?

I'm surprised your schools aren't one the many now that have the MS Select program for their students.

I can go into studnet licensing, and pick up for free, upgrades to XP, Office XP, Office:mac, and about any other consumer grade package they have. For a small fee ($10) I even had them give me a copy of the Japanese version of Windows 2000. And these are the select versions, so no worries about product activation and what have you.

Check with the tech. deptartment of your school and see if you can get the same deal.

If the school has the deal, they make it VERY well known.

It costs them quite a bit of money in order to do that.

Mine was $190 at my campus tech center. Sounds like whever you're getting it from is adding a bit of a profit margin.
