After installing Developer Tools (dec. 2002) on a fresh install of Jag with all the updates, I can no longer mount .dmg files. It gives an error in the dialog but dammit, it closes so damn fast before I can read it. Any suggestions or hope for this?
Power Mac G4/867Mhz
768MB Ram
Jag 10.2.3
And yes, I have Safari .8.1 installed, but that isn't the problem since I could mount them after using it.
edit: so I launch Disk Copy manually and it says: "Software license agreement for "MummyMazeDeluxe.dmg" was declined."
same thing for Omniweb, and a few other popcap games. Grrrrr...

Your problem could still be Safari releated. I had it running fine for a while and then bam!
Check to see if your software update is giving you an error.

Nope. I can download other .dmg files and mount them. I guess its up to the software vendor now. Software Update says I'm up to date. Odd?

perhaps a run of the fix permissions utility (in apple's disk utility) might help? at least somewhere to start...

Sadly no. Can anyone download any game (no specifics) from PopCap and tell me if they mounted? Preferably with 10.2.3 installed please

Try mounting the problem .dmg with the hdid command line tool. Type 'hdid' in the Terminal followed by a space, then drag the disk image into the Terminal window. Click the Terminal window and hit Return.

OK I d/l'd the "Big Money Deluxe" from Popcap via Safari. It came down as a .php file from the server. So I changed the extension to .dmg and then it seemed to mount just fine. I'm using 10.2.3 btw.

That worked perfectly for the PopCap games. Many thanks.
