Sorry if this is not quite in the correct forum, but it's a bit of a general question, and, er, does concern web development to a certain extent.......
I'm noticed a lot of difference between my iBook, G3 600mhz 640 ram running Panther, and a PC with an XP ( I gig or so mhz ) with 360 ram running win 2000 ( pro ).
Both are running by cable to the same router, and I'm comparing the rates using Firefox 1.5
The PC is much much quicker.
My question is how much does a browser rely on processing power for speed? or is there another factor involved? I posted quite a while back a similar enquiry about Safari being really slow on the iBook and was getting asked how much free space I had on my hard drive
I have the feeling as if the iBook will never be up to speed ever again, no matter how fast my conection is.
