Funny. As an art director hardened by the ad industry, I cannot call myself a gentlemen. A snarling tiger, yes, a gentlemen, no.

What's your opinion on the "rough textured edge" btw?

I'd rather be able to add that myself when necessary.

IMO antiqued or textured fonts should be altered / created so that characters don't repeat. The distressed look falls flat when it's an out-of-the-can font solution. You could always use it then go back in by hand and alter / vary the results. Time consuming but, when done properly, effective.

Agreed, very much so.

Any tips on how to smooth out the "rough textured edge"?

I'm wanting to use this font to make a "bells and whistles" flash thingy.

Enlarging the font just makes it look like I'm bolloxing the pixelage, or something, I'd really like to have smooth lines.

....actually, cancel that.

What I need is smooth version of the font, as I want to change the text, which probably means creating a whole new font. ( learning curve )

Unless someone has already created one, I guess.

You could try playing with it in Streamline -- outline then simplify. You could also convert to paths in Illustrator / Freehand and try the same.

In the end your time might be better served selecting a similar font.

you could try Spring LP. Or another script that isn't rough.

The script is already part of the logo.

I'm climbing the learning curve suggested by A_D as we speak.

...... but thanks.
