Ok, was just wondering because my family (between five) has:
A PM 7300 upgraded to G3/400
iMac Rev B
iMac Rev.C
PowerBook G3/500
PowerBook G3/400
Performa 5200
Anyway, the rational is that i reckon I should cut down the number of systems and make the ones we do have better.
Do all you ladies and gentlemen out there have huge numbers of systems? What are the advantages of having more macs? and fewer?
As for me, you see, I'm worried about these computers not all getting looked after (I'm the only one in the family who is actually reasonable on computers).

Too many Big Macs, yes.
Too many Macintosh apples, yes.
Too many Mac Trucks, no.

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.

my Apple Products and other Mac stuf...
Apple II
Mac SE
Newton 110
Performa 6200
UMAX C600 (2)
PowerMac G3 Blue & White
Powerbook 145b
as you can see, mine stretch out over time. the only reason keep them is for posterity's sake. ...if you've got a lot of Macs for a big family that uses them, well, that's good. but myself, as a computer science student and a writer... well, i can't imagine needing (and this isn't the current setupf for me) more than a box for testing, a box for playing and a box for the road.
my hardware is mostly outdated and is fun to play with. but in reality, i only use one of the UMAXs, and the G3. the other UMAX is on loan to my sister and my parents use the 6200 though i think they're going to get themselves an iMac soon.

Mac 512 (still works of course )
Mac Classic II (also works)
iMac Rev A (now my son's)
Wallstreet PB 300 MHz (don't leave home without it unless you're going camping)
G4 400 MHz AGP (which I won on Jan. 1st of this year. What a hoot!! )
In my office I have a 7200 120 MHz--not mine but I control the horizontal so to speak.

I don't think you can ever have too many. Sometimes, I think about trying to collect all the U.S.-released models, up to a certain point, like the 8100 or something like that. But then the storage space in my apartment and my wife say 'no'.
But one day, watch out. I can see a whole room in the basement with shelves holding all kinds of Macs, all running in complete harmony. Not that I've been thinking about that lately, though...

And just think, your twenty thousand Mac 128s might just be able to finish a work unit every couple of years, between them.

Well Ca$h, I have 2 LCs... one I've upgraded about as far as it can go, the other is a bare-bones config. Want it? I also have a Macintosh Classic II, a Quadra 630, and an iMac DV SE 400.

A bare bones Macintosh LC has:
68020 @ 16 MHz
2 MB RAM
40 MB SCSI-2 Hard Drive
If he indeed has upgraded the LC pretty far as it can go, it would have Sonnet Presto Plus (68040, 32 MB RAM (otherwise the max. on the LC is 10 MB), and Ethernet) as well as an 18 GB Hard Drive or so.

On a '020 it's 7.5.5 or 7.6.1... one of the two.
With the Presto Plus it's 8.6.
