any way to rip streaming wmv files?

i was wondering if theirs a program that will easily let me rip videos i stream online such as music videos? thanks for any info, ive searched a lot and cant find anything. preferably free programs.

If you're running Mac OS X, you can use ASFRecorderX (http://www.misawa.net/archives/000030.html) to download the file to your computer.
1. Option+click your target streaming link to download to your computer.
2. Open the file with TextEdit, and search strings like this.
<Ref href = "mms://foobar.com/stream1.wmv" />
3. If the quoted URL begins with "http://", then copy and paste that URL into your browser's address field. You don't need to launch ASFRecorderX.
4. If the quoted URL begins with "mms://" or "rtsp://", then launch ASFRecorderX, copy and paste the quoted URL (like above) into the URL field, and click "Start".

If you're running Mac OS 9.x or earlier, sorry I don't know....
