Anyone have any info on how games look when played on a large screen TV via a Pismo powerbook?
Does UT or do other games look decent?
My powernook is still on order but I was wondering how good games look when played in this way.
Thanks

It'll look like a console game. No more, no less.

Yeah, you can only get so much resolution from a TV. Now, an HDTV... I can't speak to.

Though the TV has bad resolution, the PowerBook's rendering isn't all that great either. Sure, it's decent, but I don't know if it's maxing out the TV's abilities.

It's not the rendering, it's the scan lines that cause the degradation in video quality. Unless, as previously mentioned, and HDTV is in the picture (no pun intended), then the Powerbook's monitor will be able to portray a much more detailed picture than a TV. At the very least I would suggest mirroring to a larger monitor, if size is that much of a concern. But if you just wanna poop around on a large-screen TV, then it's gonna turn out just like a console station.
