On the newest iMacs with the Intel processors, can the video card inside allow the second monitor (When using spanning) to rotate the attached monitor?

i.e. Can I have the one display (Built-in) be standard 1680x1050 and have the one external display connected to it be rotated 90º? (1050x1680)

Just curious. When I get one I wanted to have my second display be tall for viewing long webpages and text stuffs.

Haven't there been a rash of people lately doing this, and crashing on 10.4.7? I've read something about this on Macintouch.

I think you can, but I believe there have been a few stability problems with the drivers and the Mac OS X gui layer.

The video card can do it.

The OS/driver not crashing is a whole different ball game.

Yeah the video card is fully capable to do this, I don't know if Mac OS could do it though.

Do you switch back because it's buggy, or because you only need it vertical temporarily anyway?
