Im thinking of finally moving to 10.6

I have it on one of my 4 HD

but I find the icons fairly ugly and distracting compared to 10.5.x

well maybe just

would there be a way to make them look 'plainer' like 10.5.x?

What icons are you referring to? Most of them are exactly the same as 10.5. If it's a bother to you, buy CandyBar and find replacement icons that you like.

Don't worry about them - you'll get used to it.

Just pray that if you have an HP printer, it'll still work in 10.6 despite being listed by HP as working.

Rotus, you won't mind the Leopard/Snow Leopard stock icons. Sure, they may not be as pretty as Tiger's, but how often are you going to be looking at them anyway?

QFT.

My HP LaserJet is officially SL supported but it's still not working over AP. Despite working just fine for Leopard clients.

My AIO 2840 Laserjet is working fine thankfully, otherwise it would have been out with the Aculaser C4100.

Which icons specifically? I'm looking at the default hard drive icon and it looks pretty much identical to the Tiger icon...

The home folder icons, I assume. And I don't look at them every time I use the computer - far from it. I only need to use the Finder every so often, not daily.

What icons? 10.6 Snow Leopard's icons are the same exact icons as 10.5 Leopard. Did you mean 10.4 Tiger?
