I'm guessing 10.3 will get a release date - probaly within about a month.

Also, I'm betting on Steve showing the Windows ITunes Music Store.

Anyone know/guess other things?

If SJ presents iTunes music store for Windows in a European show without iTMS for Europe, he's not going to get the applause he craves.

1. State of the Union Address (Financial issues, Market Share, OS Development, Adoption Rates, Etc.)

2. Mac OS X 10.3 Look, with more stuff he didn't talk about last time and same stuff he talked about last time

Segue to a slide with a single date on it, that's the ship date...wild applause

Segue to a Mac OS X 10.3 error message about connection an Apple Wireless Mouse in the Bluetooth Preference pane, everyone laughs,

3. He introduces the Wireless Keyboard and Wireless Mouse

4. Status on "Year of the Laptop"...Gives some numbers on laptop marketshare...blah blah blah....Introduces the PowerBook updates, not available immediately, will ship next month, mid-october.

5. Talks about consumer products, how they are doing so well, back to school and stuff. Talks about how they recently upgraded the iPod to 40GB (9/8/03) and how the iPod is selling so well and iTunes music store is still going strong and we'll be brining it to Europe before the end of the year....wild applause....

6. Somehow segues into an iMac speedbump, nothing extravagant, thanks the attendees and everyone gets a free wireless mouse on the way out...

15" G4 AlBook introduction sounds right to me, as does OS X.3 and probably bluetooth mouse & keyboard.

yes, it would be very ideal for apple to introduce a wireless mouse and KB that utilizes Bluetooth.

Damn, I know Panther builds are flying out left and right; however, going from 10.3 to 10.7 in the same expo? Incredible.

You mean the return of the QuickCam they introduced years ago, before anyone else sold a consumer digital camera?

Unlikely, I think. I can't see that they'd offer anything in this area that would be better than the competitors. That's why they quit that market in the first place!

Digital camera could be greatly improved uppon. The only problem is apple has NO REASON to try. And by that I mean no reason to continue chasing developers off the Mac platform.

The thing is the iPod was made because the market should have been doing better but wasn't. It was a chance to create a high end high quality product.

The thing with digital cameras is while they're sweet for a lot of stuff, the market is already full of great ideas. And if apple makes their own that could only encourage others to stop developing for the Mac. I mean look at the MP3 market. Apple has AAC but every other player is using Win Media as their second file type.

RIght now apple has a few sales to gain with a digital camera and a whole crap load of stuff to loose with making their own.

Of course the iSight was a great idea, I think still a bit ahead of it's time but we'll see.

Actually, the iMac-thing was much more reasonable than the PowerBook. At least for today.

The rumor sites mentioned new iMacs, they were indeed due and it was only to be a speed bump, so it was something that is usually launched on a Monday or Tuesday morning (east coast time).

The PowerBook would be such a big thing (hopefully) that it's "Expo-worthy". So, I'd expect it next week in Paris.

That would be great if everything above will be in the expo.

My main guess for the largest news there would be the new/updated Powerbooks, 15inch. Release date for Panther. Other than that, I don't think there would be anything huge that will blow us all away. As for the PDA, it would be great if Apple is making one, but they already said couple months ago that they have no intention of getting into that market.

WAIT I am getting something...

...It says...You won't be impressed.

Now I know that Apple could include a free live baby Panther with every 12" PowerBook and you wouldn't be impressed, so let me elaborate...

...You won't be impressed as in, you weren't impressed with the iMac's this morning. I'll be honest with you. Not much will suprise you about these PowerBook updates. Aluminum all over the whole line, with some speedbumps, ect. ect. This is a Rev. B Bump for the line. I think anxiousness is breeding false expectations.

I'm not sure if we have it now but what about iTunes supporting dual ripping and dual burning? I really want to buy another cdrw (since the superdrive is just so slow) but I don't know if its worth it if I can't use both at once.

btw if anyone has suggestions for a cdrw for a 1ghz DP G4 (I think there is a height restriction on the tray) I'm all ears.

thanks

I think Apple has it's hardware bases covered - except for the Powerbooks, so it's fair to expect a speed bump and a return of the 15"er. I don't think this is worthy of a 'one more thing' though...

I think Steve'll pull out a new software app out of the blue - like he did with Keynote. Possibly a consumer graphics app or word proc. Or maybe announce the iMove Store (online Video on demand).

iTunes music store Europe would be a very cool announcement for a Paris expo, and would go down very well. In fact, this could be the key reason he's personally doing the Keynote this time around.

Ship date for 10.3 is a certain - my guess is he'll announce that it's just gone GM and will be available to buy in 1 month or less.
