All of the sudden the space bar on my computer doesn't work, a external keyboard does. I tried to reset the PMU and zap the PRAm and even tried to get into open Firmware to do it. I am unable to do any of them. The keyboard commands don't seem to work? Any suggestions?

Learntotypewithoutspaces,perhaps?Hardertoread,buti tmightstillworkforyou.

Seriously, there could be something wrong with the key itself. Take your machine to an Apple store. They might be able to help you out there with a new key.

ditto here: take to apple store. If the Apple store isn't close by, find an Apple Service Provider. Have the genius order in new keyboard. Do not send laptop off in box: The keyboard can be ordered in and replaced locally.

That way, you don't lose the use of the laptop while waiting for the keyboard.

Are you sure about being replaced locally? The new powerbooks don't have a removable keyboard. I'm going to go up to the Westfarms Apple store Sat. Morning.

Definitely sounds like your space bar has just pooped out. They might have to replace the whole keyboard, but if you under warranty that ain't no thang.

Hey, while you're there, think you could ask about how to take care of a squeaky space bar? Mine squeaks constantly and there isn't a decent mac technician within walking distance (college student=no car). I'd appreciate it!!

Yeah, my backspace key squeeks if the left side of it gets pressed. I zone it out now though. (12" PB)
