I can add an image directly to Iphoto without opening application when I am in slide show of preview. But I couldn't find the way to do it without slide show. Is there a way ?

Hi variozin, you can always drag the photo/s to the iPhoto icon in your Dock .... When you add a photo to iPhoto from the Slideshow Contextual Menu Option, it launches iPhoto ... the same thing will happen when you drag a picture onto the iPhoto Dock icon ...

In Safari at least, you can right-click a photo to add it to iPhoto. Doesn't work in the Finder.

Is that new in the beta, or did I just never notice it before?

No, that’s an old feature.
