I tried it on my Dell 2005fpw, and it didn't seem to affect it at all. I'll have to try it out on my new Powerbook when it arrives in the mail.

Didn't do much for the PB LCD, had better results on the ACD. Oh well...

a little purplish hue...may try again (or not).

want my 12" sharper & brighter (which, of course, would mean a new screen..!)

I tried Supercal several times and I keep getting a faint blue-ish hue. I like the internal calibration settings better.

I tried it on my PB, and got a nasty pinkish hue. Everything was going OK until the picture of the married couple. Dragging the mouse around to set the white balance on a photo is very hard to do... after that step it all went downhill.

My profile from the built-in calibration tool is miles better.

Supercal can do a great job on compensating for linearity (gamma) issues -- arguably more accurately than hardware because it is including the complete system as you see it in the process -- not only the display, but the glare and your eyes themselves. Chromaticity (white balance) however, can only be subjective with a visual calibrator (without precision filters). Adjusting white balance is optional in Supercal -- you can leave it up to the native display white balance.

Most problems come in in the first difficult step of determining the "black level" (darkest visible brightness of R, G, & B).
