I just took lunch and went to GameStop to buy the new DS Zelda.
I've been excited for this game for a long while now and it's finally out in the U.S.
I'll post my thoughts after I play a little tonight.
Has anyone played it yet?

It's out already? I've been waiting for this game for a year!
Looking forward to pickup up Worms soon also.

hey everyone,
i had a chance to play a little bit of zelda, probably the best touch screen controls to date on the DS and a really fun game. Seems a little easy compared to others in the series but definitely worth picking up. I was pleasantly surprised.

I agree. The controls are perfect. My favorite is when you can draw a line around the screen and your boomerang follows it.
The entire game is controlled with the touchscreen, and buttons on the DS are shortcuts if you choose to use them.
I played a few hours last night and on the subway this morning and I am really enjoying it.

I'll be checking this game out tomorrow, hopefully. I'm trading in Jam Sessions (meh), and I don't have time to go to Gamestop until then.

I had a few minutes during lunch, so I swung by Gamestop only to discover that I had pre-ordered Metroid Prime 3: Corruption at that store (and had been playing a different copy the past few weeks). So I threw that $10 towards Phantom Hourglass, and I'll be playing tonight after work.
I never played Wind Waker, and this has been touted as a sequel of sorts. Am i going to be missing anything when I start up?

You'll be fine without the Wind Waker background but i have to say except for the excessive sailing in Wind Waker its a fine zelda experience (in my top 3 zelda games) and if you have any chance to play through it, its worth a "quick" run through. But if you play through phantom hourglass first it won't hurt your experience.

Is anyone else having issues from time to time with their fingers and hang getting in the way of the screen?

Once in a while when I'm running around the screen during a boss battle. I'm right handed and running right to left will make my hand cover the right hand side of the screen.

Yet another game where the developer's don't let you blast through the opening story with a button mash to skip. Other than that, I'm digging the game - aside from being left-handed and needing to hold the stylus at a weird angle so I can see what's going on.

I'm loving this game! Sadly, I never got around to playing Minish Cap.

Just hit start and you can skip any cinema.
Personally, I'm enjoying it, but the game is a little more straightforward than I would have preferred. Most of the puzzles are very easy, and the hardest ones are mainly of the "Oh, you wanted me to use some stupid feature of the DS" (like one where you just have to ).

Nope. That doesn't work here.

I hated that one. I eventually closed my DS because I wanted a break from the game, and when I came back it was solved.
I'm back at the Ocean Temple for the millionth time and am growing tired of having to run through the temple from the beginning. The patrolling demons are now red and faster than regular demons. Anyone know how much left of the game I have?
