Sure, that makes sense.
I've even had one company file Ch11, it happens, especially when you have business partners who do stupid shit. I don't fault Trump for that. He personally has never filed. What does Bill have to do with Hillary's abilities to manage finances? My wife is amazing at cutting hair but that doesn't mean I'm any good at it. In the same vein, my wife can't even balance a checkbook or make heads or tails of a bank statement.

Preposterous. I don't even believe that Trump will do half what he says but if his team says "war gets you re-elected" thats exactly what he'll do.
Have you ever actually looked at Clinton's voting record in the senate? She approved acts of aggression against foreign countries every. single. time. the opportunity arose.

To you, yes. And maybe it should be. But it isn't to everyone.
What genitals a person has is wholly unimportant. Identity politics is stupid.

No, he's pretty popular outside redneck country.
You're better than that, he's not a member of your family. Calm your tits.

It can go for or against depending on your opinion. Anyone who thinks Trump can't do worse is an idiot..
Did I say he can't do worse? The status quo is crippling the country, we literally can't take on more debt but we're continuing to spend like a drunk frat boy with dad's credit card.

I'm really not sure thats true. Maybe the majority of people you talk to.
I just read the polls, man. Right Direction or Wrong Track - Rasmussen Reports™

Its post like this that make bring me back to thinking you're a die hard Republican. Every one of your responses here looks like just blind Hillary-hating.
You're deluded, I dislike her and Trump equally. I think both are bad for America.

The only reason Hillary would put Bernie on the ticket is to keep him from running as an independent.

JuRY opined the best way for Hillary to show she's a bad-ass mother****er who can beat Trump is to put Bernie's head on a pike.

Not sure I see either option as best.

It's the best offer she'll get, otherwise he'll probably run under the socialist ticket (they'll gladly slot him in) and he'll Perot her. Then she's schlonged.

He's nuts. I'd bet ~1/3rd of Bernie's supporters would vote for Trump simply as a "F*ck You". They're a very sensitive lot and very protective of him, almost like the father they never had.

They won't vote for Trump, but they may stay home, which is just as devastating to the campaign. I am not certain that they will, though. It depends a lot on how Bernie acts. He has said that he will keeping running all the way to the convention, which essentially makes it impossible for him to run as an independent - filing deadlines will have come and gone in many states, so all he could do is spoil, and he is not that petty. If he gives a graceful concession speech, all is well in Democratic party. If he gives in but less gracefully - think McCain in 2000 - everyone will have forgotten come November. If he pouts and complains, there might be trouble.

I do think that the Dems can handle it, though. Nader was only 16 years ago and hasn't been forgotten yet.

No of course I haven't. I still think Trump is more likely to start a war. He just seems like the sort of guy who'd love to send an army to invade somewhere and then take credit from thousands of miles away nice and safe in a bunker.

Not sure why you're labouring the point. You must realise it does matter to some people? Whether it should or not?

If anything Hillary Vs Bernie should be the main election. Bernie is the change to the system worth considering taking the chance on. It is so obvious to everyone outside the US that Trump will be an awful president. President Trump has literally been a joke in works of fiction. Years ago.

Between Hillary and Donald, the status quo is the safer bet by far.

I'm not going to argue with you about what your opinion is, but when you write post after post about how much you hate Hillary (often without a great deal of justification or substance) and then add "oh and I don't like Trump either" as a footnote, what do you expect people to think?
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Maybe you should check that out; she's a neocon warhawk, what you guys despised about W Bush.

I don't care if they do. Just because we can, and eventually will, elect a woman doesn't mean the first needs to be Hillary.

Such as? (No, if you're going to use bigoted names, I'll call it out. I do the same when people say "ni**er".)

So much of that is due to the rest of the world moving so far to the Left, but I feel the migrant crisis is about to change things in Europe, very soon (ex. Brexit).

Between Hillary and Donald, the status quo is the safer bet by far.
They're both disastrous; whether you're going off the cliff at 90 or 60, the result is the same.

You're simply wrong. Search for my comments about Trump, you've only been seeing what you want to see.

Well, that's your fault for being so far behind.

I didn't mean to spoil anything, since you used the image I thought you'd seen the film and understood the context.

I would hate for the first to be a Palin or a Bachmann. Then it will be 100 years before another woman gets a go.

Sure but you pick 60 every time given the choice. Without thinking twice about it.

Yes theres an argument for finishing yourself off completely so you don't have to live out your days as a paralysed dribbling vegetable, but that part of the analogy doesn't really hold up when you're talking about countries.

Nope. Not sure how that would be. If that were true Hillary would be leading in the polls now, instead of being a couple points behind.

I would hate for the first to be a Palin or a Bachmann. Then it will be 100 years before another woman gets a go.
Neither could do it, the only woman who would win in a walk right now is Condoleezza Rice.

The longer a depression takes, the longer and worse it will be. That's economic history 101. Civilization, and humanity in general, needs a purge.

I invoked a comic book character. I thought it obvious that I wasn't making serious political commentary.

To be honest, I thought you were joking yourself, it was a pretty over-the-top comment.

I was being hyperbolic. However, eventually the piper will need to be paid, and when that happens, the longer we've let the meter run, the worse it will be for everyone.

On GMA this morning: "It's so great, the first president with a vagina!"

That's literally what most of Hillary's supporters care about, just like most of Obama's were only looking at his skin color. It's the worst aspect of gender politics, and the very definition of sexism. "Women can be powerful too!" I just... I can't even...

I think one can make the argument there was a significant, tangible benefit to having a black president. In 2016, for a woman, I don't think there's quite the same benefit. Especially when Liz Warren is the obvious better choice.

Ironically, I think the lessened benefits can be traced in no small part to Obama being black. The incoming tide has raised all boats.

I think people are confusing why the female president thing is a story. It's not because it's some great benefit, it's because it's the sports equivalent of 'first female gm' or some such. i.e., 'this has never happened before so it's amazing!'

There is still a large part of the population who think that a woman's place is in the kitchen, not the white house. Or that if a woman president had PMS she'd push the red button and nuke us all. Many also prefer the commander in chief to have military experience... which is still uncommon for women.

Margaret Chase Smith ran in 1964... she was pretty awesome, but didn't win any primary.
When the wife of one of her opponents questioned whether a woman would be a good Senator, Smith replied, "Women administer the home. They set the rules, enforce them, mete out justice for violations. Thus, like Congress, they legislate; like the Executive, they administer; like the courts, they interpret the rules. It is an ideal experience for politics."
On January 27, 1964, Smith announced her candidacy for President of the United States.[20] She declared, "I have few illusions and no money, but I'm staying for the finish. When people keep telling you, you can't do a thing, you kind of like to try."

8 years of Obama was 8 years we didn't have our first woman president, while it was 8 years other places had a chance to catch up.

Let me rephrase...

What I'm saying is 8 years ago people didn't say "it's weird we haven't had a woman president yet". Now they do.

Eight years ago a woman president was still novel. It's not any more.

Having a female president is a very big deal.

- There are still a lot of prejudice towards women and swimming against tide necessary to be accepted into certain occupations. A female president might inspire many young women to try something that has been dominated by men

- There are many gender-specific issues that might be better championed by a woman (e.g. equal pay, abortion, birth control availability, etc.)

- Depending on what you believe about inherent gender-specific neurological strengths and weaknesses, it marks the first time we have a president with these qualities

- It changes America's image and identity to the rest of the world

I'm not claiming to be a Hillary fan, I'm just saying that her being female is not nothing.

Only if you see the US in isolation: It's been normal in other countries for years. Great Britain had the Iron Lady way before that. And Angela Merkel — arguably the most powerful female head of state — has been chancellor in Germany since 2005 (and she's a conservative just like Thatcher). To call the idea of a female president 8 years ago “novel” is a bit weird.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

"Because vagina" is not a big deal, over half the people in the world have them.

Where? Occupations have been fighting to get them in, women simply don't want to get STEM degrees, they want social science and education degrees.

They have equal pay, it's the decisions they make that keep them uneven with men. Women work 30% less hours than men, they work 20% less years than men (to have babies and retire earlier), both of which cause them to make less $$ in wages and earn fewer promotions. Abortions are readily available, and the services are very frequently used (it's the most common outpatient procedure in the USA), and birth control is free if they show they can't afford it.

- Depending on what you believe about inherent gender-specific neurological strengths and weaknesses, it marks the first time we have a president with these qualities
I don't believe that at all, no woman wanted to go through what was necessary to be POTUS before (see above about family and the like). Men never held them back, they just preferred doing other jobs that weren't related to gov't administration.

Of course it isn't nothing, it's because ... well, you know... vagina!

^^^^ indeed.. Not even worth the dissection, except I'll share some sad observations.

We were in a bar the other day that was showing a televised version of some darts competition. Very boring, but very strange that there were no women competing or judging. Why are there no female umpires in baseball? Why are video game competitions separated by genders sometimes?

You can argue that these sorts of things are not examples of sexism, and they certainly aren't my go-to examples of the most glaring and bothersome forms of sexism, but my point is that they are certainly strange vestiges of outdated views in our society. Hillary Clinton's mom was born before women could even vote. Claiming that there is no longer sexism is similar to claiming that there is no longer racism - it simply hasn't been that long since there very clearly was.

Of course, we could also bring up many glaring examples of sexism, but presenting these to Loosepants would be pointless, he's dug in.
