That was essentially my question as well. Panic makes great software, we've bought some of their products -- but when I heard they were making a Usenet reader, my first thought was "Why? Does anyone read Usenet anymore?"

I haven't bother with Usenet for half a decade or more. Apparently I'm wrong, some people do still read it.

Usenet is very retro. I remember using it in the early nineties. I wonder what it looks like now.

Ya where can you get access to the entire contents of usenet? ISPs rarely bother with usenet any more. The entire usenet is on every usenet server. It is kinda silly and must take up hundreds of GB of server space!
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Go check out easynews--i think it is the cheapest.
I use giganews--it has a 30 day or more retention on multi-part binaries.

http://www.airnews.net/ looks ok, it offers pricing according to the bandwidth you get. No limits on downloads! I like that much better than limited downloads. I can't be bothered to keep track of it.

https://www.altopia.com/ offers no censoring, no download limits but a bit more expensive. Hmm.

http://www.news.astraweb.com/ this looks very good, unlimited downloads, no censoring and damn cheap. $10 a month for 600kbps or $15 for 2mbit connection.

Am I the only one still reading only non-binary newsgroups that are not related to warez or pr0n?

I still read Usenet and have been looking for a good OSX reader. Unison could be good, although I am too stupid to figure out how to actually view messages. I have the multi pane view of the groups, but I cannot seem to go further. Anyone found a help doc?
