I was playing Urban Terror just fine under OS X. Now, my framerate drops to 1-2 FPS every few seconds. Any ideas?

I can play Quake 3 itself for hours without a problem, so it's not network lag, or a Quake problem.

This is driving me nuts. It's my favorite game, or at least was...

Try looking under the "system" preferences and check out the video settings. The Urban Terror mod video settings could be set at a mich higher resolution than your regular Quake 3 settings. This is the only problem I could think of, because it's happened to me before.

Yes, I have tried all video settings, to no apparent change. I also changed sound settings, thinking that might help (the sound stutters too), and no effect. I just ran Norton Disk Doctor and Speed Disk. Still no change. I am now re-downloading UT to see if that has an effect.

Well, I think I finally fixed it. I turned compression back on. I had it on when I first was having the problem, then off as a test. There must have been multiple problems or something.
