i have been playing with the keychain and encryption features of OS9. i would like to encrypt key files on my system (like my Quicken finances file) for protection purposes. when i double click the file, if my keychain is unlocked, the file decrypts and opens with the desired application. when i am finished modifying this file, the application quits and the file is not re-encrypted.

my questions are:
1. is an automatic re-encryption feature supported by they keychain in general?
2. do applications need to be re-coded to take advantage of this?

thanks,
scott

Unfortunately, you have to re-encrypt your files by hand. There is no auto-reencrypt feature in MacOS 9.
