Can't Delete a User with an admin account

I tried to delete a user from accounts in a regular MacOS X 10.2.6 system, but it will not go away. Do I have to be a root or superuser in order to do this?

You shouldn't have to be, as long as the account you are deleting is not an admin account also. Try repairing permissions.

I think he means he is trying to delete an admin account.

Root and superuser are the same thing right? I've seen people word it both ways like this before and it has me wondering if one has more "power" then the other or something.

In that case, you have to login to that account first and remove admin priviliges.

Wrong. An admin account can delete any other admin account without having to do anything special.

Normally yes, but apparently that is not the case with him for whatever reason. Since he was having a problem I was suggesting he try that first. I should have stated it clearer.

To go back to the question....
This is something strange with OS X sometimes. It doesn't matter if you are admin, root, the user still comes back. (Yes I know that sounds strange: check the forums, it's true, had it myself twice).
Solution: go to Netinfo Manager in Utilities and from there delete the user you want to delete. There you can enable root (if you have never done this before) and to unlock the padlock you have to use the root password.
Once done, you will be able to delete the user, and when login out and in you'll find the user finally gone.
