My macbook's iSight camera isn't working. System profiler doesn't recognize it, ichat doesn't recognize it and photobooth doesn't recognize it. The same thing happened 2 times before and sent in for repairs. Both times the apple rep said "The wires near the camera came off." The second time they fixed it they said "we taped it so it shouldn't come off now." and this was only a month ago.
So is this problem common? Anybody else have it?

well in my media class we have about 20 macbooks and about 5/8s of them have non-working isights. If these guys really did tape it, i would hold for a while. Does ur macbook stay stationary or do u move/throw/hurl ur macbook around? cause if u do, it may have come out

I use my MacBook pretty vigorously, and this has never happened to me. Sounds like they didn't do that great of a tape job.

well I don't really move my macbook much. Never handle it badly. I'm guessing that since the ledge to open the macbook is in the middle, everytime I open it I touch the camera area and move the wiring or something.
