Am using a BellSouth ADSL connection, OS X 10.1.2 (well now 10.1.3), and an iMac. Everything works fine when I manually connect to the network. However, I cannot get the "connect automatically" option (PPPoE options in Network preferences) to work. Rarely it has worked, but usually the application (IE, AOL, OmniWeb) hangs. Is this the PPP bug? Is there any way to fix this? Opening a new browser window does NOT work, and even if it did, that would defeat the purpose of the option. By the way, connecting from the menu bar icon always works.

just make sure you're not set to disconnect after a certain amount of time.
