What's the best guide to using Terminal? Am looking for an introductory-level instruction manual or tutorial. I'd like an online guide, but if you have a favorite book, please list that here, too.

I looked for a Unix command guide when OS X first came out and saved a PDF of a nice web page entitled Common Unix Command Quick Reference. I looked for the PDF on my drive and found that the page was located at http://web.nwe.ufl.edu/writing/tools...commands.html. Unfortunately, it no longer is there, but I am sure there are comparable guides around. After checking around I have not yet seen a guide nearly as nice as the one I downloaded. Let me know if you would like me to email you the PDF.

O'Reilly has a pretty good book: Learning Unix for Mac OS X Panther. That'll get you started working with the terminal, an intro to unix, shell commands and stuff.

I have it and it worked for me.

Yes! You know, I just found archive.org not too long ago and really enjoy it, but for some reason I totally forgot to consider using it after getting that 404. Thank you.

To answer my own question...

Last night I found this site. It seems to be just what I've been looking for:
