Last night I played Metroid Prime on my Gamecube. Afterwards, I felt guilty. Enjoying myself playing a game on a Nintendo console at non HD resolutions is just wrong. I should know better.

Just a note while this thread is up. Nintendo will be demoing the Revolution at E3 and revealing the final secrets they've been keeping. They will be letting people use the Revolution hands on. Sony... will not be letting people use the PS3 at E3.

Hmmmm.

He is saying the magazine is lying and has no integrity and that you should believe a guy in a forum who claims to know a receptionist that sex with the staff, who knows that they are not screenshots but renders.

EGM about Revolution…

We just finished our June issue (which will start shipping right when E3 starts). Our cover story? The Nintendo Revolution. After working on this article, I must say, I've gone from "excited" to "OMG super-psyched" for this machine. I can't reveal anything right now, but I think the Revolution will put Nintendo back into the game for this next-gen console war. Forget GameCube and Nintendo 64. If Nintendo can get the right developers backing this system for a few years, it will be a winner.

Is this not the same issue they've faced with every system? Third party support has been iffy, while first party games are amazing.

I hope Guitar Hero comes out for Gamecube or Revolution...

So flippng the controller is what makes you jump? A looooooot of people won't like that.

You're changing the paradigm. Most people can't get used to it. What if you have arthritis or carpal tunnel?

I don't know about amazing but good, yes. I mean how many situations can you put Mario in?

Also 1st party games are few and far between. By the time Zelda ships I don't think many will care anymore.

If Mario sunshine sucked just wait till we see what they do with the rev. it will probably involve painting clouds in the sky or catching butterflies.

But I agree, SMS is the worst mario game ever.

Well it wasn't a 'true' Mario game. Supposedly Mario 128 or 100 Marios was supposed to be that game.

Says who?

Mario 128 vapourware doesn't make SMS any less sucky.

imho...

playstation < n64

playstation2 < gamecube ≤ xbox (due to my addiction of halo)

if this trend continues...

playstation 3 < revolution ≤ xbox 360

just shut up and buy games you like to play and stop trying to evangelize the rest of the population with what YOU think is better.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

It's now the: "Nintendo Wii"

Pronounced "we", which sounds a lot like "wee", which is British slang for urine/urination.

Pot. Kettle. Black.

The N64 sucked. It only had, what, five good games? The rest were limited by the cart, and you had to buy extra sh*t to get all the features from the games. And you think PS1 < N64? Puh-leeze.

The MAJORITY of good games at that time were on the PS1: Tomb Raider, FF VII, VIII, IX, Crash Bandicoot, Silent Hill, Gran Turismo, Parasite Eve, Resident Evil. Shall I go on? The list is quite long.

The Xbox is a great machine, but I'd say it's equal to the PS2 for a variety of reasons. Sure, the Xbox is TECHNOLOGICALLY superior to the PS2, but the PS2 does have the best games on it, developer support, and it game out, what TWO years before the Xbox? The PS2 also had undying support from a variety of developers. Given the choice I prefer the Xbox version of a game over the PS2 due to Dolby Digital and HDTV support, but as for the sheer list of classic titles and developer support, you can't say that the PS2 < Xbox. They're equal because it all balances out.

The GC was a joke. Not even worth mentioning.

So like.... what are you doing in a thread on Nintendo's systems ? GC was a joke ? ..... yeah almost as funny as PS2's power or XB's ROIs....but not quite as funny though.

Go elsewhere.

The Wii name sucks, I'll be first to admit it. That said, I still look forward to the system. Hell, I have Monkey Ball, Zelda, and Red Steel in my launch pile already, and E3 isnt even here yet. ;o

It's a headline writers dream. Imagine the puns you can get with a name like that. The possibilities are endless.

If my opinion isn't important, why do you keep replying to it?

I have TWO GCs, one for me and one for the kids. Yes, the games on it are good, but the NUMBER of games on the GC SUCKS. I have like 60 PS2 games, roughly 40-50 Xbox games, and 7 GC games.

Same here, I have about 3 out of 8 Nintendo games that are good.

TONS TONS more for the Xbox's and PS2.

You know you we are just going to hear a quality over quantity thing but in my opinion the PS2/Xbox games are as high or most of the time much better than Nintendos.

OK, OK..

Kaplan said the criticism was not unexpected, given Wii's uniqueness.

"I think people have to look back and let it settle in," she said. "I'm sure people felt the same way when Google was named – or the iPod. Napster. Yahoo. There's a whole host of unusual names that have become a part of everyday conversation and I think they're viewed now as unique."
--------------------------------------------------------
I'll have to admit, she has a real point there. I dont feel as harsh about it viewing it in that light.
