Jeez, don't they have helicopters in Ohio? High speed car chases are incredibly dangerous for the public.

Wow.

Yes Mastrap, half the departments in my area have a 'no chase' policy in play.

Same up here. If at all possible the police will avoid a high speed chase. There have been too many deaths and/or injuries of innocent bystanders.

How do you all feel about them beating the holy crap out of him right there? Just sayin'. Just dessert?

(crazy freakin chase!.. why was that donkey ass trailblazer able to whoop the cop the whole chase while losing (what seemed like) eleven tires throughout??)

I seem to remember a few months ago I was flipping past HeadlineNews and they were televising one live (for no reason). It wasn't all that exciting (other than the kid driving at highway speeds and steering with just rims), but the one part that intrigued me was it kept showing him in the car (between waving to the cameras) scribbling on a piece of paper and then holding it on the top of car's roof, I'm guessing in attempt to send messages over live tv (Not realizing the helicopter cameras don't zoom in that much). It was bizarre.

I was annoyed however, that the people doing the play-by-play were mystified and could not 'guess' what he was trying to do each time it showed him writing then holding the paper outside.

Got a couple minutes in, looked at the progress bar and said, "f this." Sorry, just wholly uninteresting despite what I was lead to believe.

What a stupid kid. He was in an SUV. If you really want to evade the cops, try a sports car. Especialy one with AWD. Then you can lose them on the road, and off the road. Like so:

seattlepi.com / KOMO 4 News

Stolen Subaru SVX... he outruns them on the highway, then goes offroading with it through a golf course. Hahahhaah.

:/ The italicized this suggests high impact collision.

Very disappointing.

He was still caught. Doesn't matter what car you have, you can't drive faster than a radio.

WOW! God, the guy gives up completely, and the cops still act like he's super dangerous, then one cuffs him, and another runs up, grabs his head, and starts bashing his face into the concrete.

I hate cops. I mean, the dude was a jerkoff and all, but he'll probably get raped in prison, so there's no reason to smash his face in.

He slammed numerous cars to the side of the road and you are upset he got his face smashed in? lol

The officers did exactly as they were trained to do. Initiate an arrest.

He was already cuffed, and laying on the ground. I don't see why the guy needed to run up and smash his face in. Seems pointless. The guy had already given up.

Or hit tilde, typed "iamthelaw" and then changed into the cop uniform. That confuses 'em.

the size of the ass whooping you take from the cops is dictated by the level of disregard for the law you displayed prior to them taking you into custody. It's not right, but it's the way it is. It also doesn't help if they're crooked shady jacked up cops arresting you.. good luck!

I'm curious as to how more than one of you made the inference that he was getting his ass beat by the cops. All the video clearly shows is that a bunch of cops are on top of him.

I am amazed that the cops seemed to follow him instead of helping the dozen cars that got smashed into the side of the road. I hope they had ambulances right behind them!

And I think he deserved a face smash.

Watch the second vid. One cop approaches him, as he's laying on the ground, and pulls out his cuffs. He starts cuffing him. Another cop runs up from behind the 1st cop, on his right side, gets down, grabs the guys skull, and slams it into the concrete repeatedly. I really don't know how you DO NOT see this.

FIRST video from the OP has a whole heaping helping of kneeing, elbows, punching etc. even though the guy was face down on the ground with about ten cops on top of him. Cops know they're on cam, but sometimes they can't help themselves as far as dishing out a little punishment before the bad guy sees the judge. So they get real close and run elbows into the side of your head and other similar tactics to inflict pain without looking like they're beating the snot outta ya.

That's because cops are mostly power tripping assholes who think laws don't really apply to them. I can't tell you how many times I've seen cops not use signals, speed without lights, or do other stupid crap. The 'excuse to beat someone up' without getting into trouble is part of what draws people to the job in the first place.

I've watched the video over and over and I didn't see anyone "bust the guy up." That said, he needed to have the living crap kicked out of him. I can't believe there are folks showing any sympathy toward this guy that caused quite a few wrecks, possibly some injuries and showed a total disregard for the lives of people around him and a total disgregard for the lives of the law enforcement officers charged to apprehend him and protect us. When the police slowed down he didn't back off at all, in fact he got worse. It was when the police were out of view that he wrecked the most cars. The police would have been justified for doing a Pit-maneuver on him even if it killed him.

I'm tired of showing sympathy toward those who make personal decisions that put the rest of us in danger.

You know this seems to be happening a lot to you. Not just with me either. Posting sarcasm via text is bad "internet etiquette" the way it is. Then not making such a thing obvious that you are joking makes it even worse. But I could look over those things. Its when you chastise or belittle people for "misunderstanding" you does it get a bit weird.

Seriously, a or wont hurt you once in awhile. And your "jokes" will tend to work better and people will stop responding to them the way you aren't intending them to. In the long run, everyone will be happier.

And that is what we all should be striving for right?

And as far as whether it's up to the cops or not. I will use this post as a response.

I've watched the video over and over and I didn't see anyone "bust the guy up." That said, he needed to have the living crap kicked out of him. I am just tired of people that don't or wont accept responsibilities for their own actions. And or try to blame someone else for them.

I am sure the guy can/would/probably will spin this as him being afraid of the cops, and that is why he didn't stop!

I think you're missing the point. It isn't the place of the police to inflict it.
I'm sure Bubba will be setting his ass straight, so to speak, if you're big on the karma/deserves extra punishment outside of the legal system aspect.

I got the point. But that just isn't how reality works. And I think the guy deserved it. He made his own bed.

Meh, these people don't get the "treatment" so much as child molesters and the like. The people who do such asinine things are usually treated well in the poke. Just because of the making cops chase you aspect.

Everyone likes a good story. And if it doesn't evolve harming minors or women, no one gets any ass setting straight in jail or prison.

Obviously I'm not monitoring the situation as closely as you are.

I like to post absurd opinions or subtle commentary. I'm not going to change my style to suit a few people, particularly when no one outside of yourself is complaining. When I'm unsure if someone is joking, I usually ask. Maybe these people should too.

That's awful, awful reasoning. Reality is shaped by us. This isn't the jungle. Reality is that the strong can exploit the weak. But we have laws to prevent that, to prevent that 'reality'.
