Fox News is reporting that the Pentagon has ordered 100 warplanes to the Persian Gulf region. They are to leave out Thursday. Also several aircraft carriers are also to report to the Persian Gulf. The pentagon has dubbed this 'Operation Infinite Justice'. More detais on this are sure to come later.

Right and until now we have just let this stuff go, this is precisely why I'm on the side of retaliation vs. the side that some are taking. The U.S.S. Cole Attackj took the life of 17 sailors. That hit home since I'm ex-Navy myself.

But I don't recall hearing about anything being done in retaliation for that attack.

Enough is enough, and this was enough.

What an absolutely stupid name... Desert Storm sounded much cooler.

Not like that's really the point at the moment.

Operation Whip Yo' Ass.

I'm sure they'll change the name of the operation once the first strikes take place. Desert Sheild to Desert Storm for example.

Operation: Bin Laden has performed an illegal operation, and will be shut down.

or, nevermind.

That's "for great justice", not "for infinite justice".

However, it still sounds like someone at the Pentagon has been watching a little too much Sailor Moon.

How ironic. When Clinton struck back at terrorists, he was accused of a Wag the Dog scenario. Republicans lashed out saying that the attacks were a crock designed to lead the American people away from the Lewinsky scandal.

As a result, the attacks stopped. Now the Republicans are turning to Clinton asking why he didn't do more to stop terrorism.

Figures.

President Clinton could have continued the attacks should he had chose to. He listened to the polls WAY too much.

There was actually a plan developed under his administration to go in and kidnap Usama Bin Laden, but the risks where more than Clinton was willing to accept.

Well, Fran, you're right...but there are some differences.

I think most people would agree that Clinton's "attack" was less about "doing the right thing" and fighting terrorism as it was to simply divert attention from his knob-polishing escapades with a pudgy, air-headed intern.

His timing was suspect at best.

He'd never done it before and didn't do it much after. It seemed odd and fishy to most people that those attacks coincided with the heat about to come from all the Lewinsky matter.

Using the military to help steer attention away from illicit hummers and using them to strike back after over 5,000 Americans were murdered on U.S. soil are two VERY different scenarios.

However, since Clinton was already doing it - regardless of the motivation - I would've liked it and been totally cool with him continuing to do so. It just rings a bit hollow to stage a few pinpoint attacks when your wife is chasing you around with a rolling pin.
