Here's what's worse. OS 9.1 disables AppleShare IP 6.3.2. If I want to run my ASIP 6.3.2 server with OS 9.1. I've got to pay for the "upgrade" to 6.3.3, says Apple.
I'll run that past you again. Apple's 9.1
breaks ASIP, that, although buggy, works acceptably under 9.0.4. Then, they want you to
pay to get the software working again with a patch that offers
no new functionality.
Why?
Nothing in Apple's literature indicates that 6.3.3 has any additional functionality over 6.3.2, and God only knows that there are so many bugs in the current ASIP that Apple should be releasing a free bug-fix patch to correct the current shortcomings in their product. So, why should we pay for a bug fix when there's no additional functionality?
Of course, if Apple has a URL that takes me directly to the download for ASIP 6.3.3 I'll take this all back. I haven't found it so far and I'd be grateful if anyone knew there was one.
