So I was walking down the fence row today and discovered a whole bunch of asparagus (grown about two weeks past picking size) in the same spot as the normal spring asparagus crop. That's just not right, is it?

Has anybody ever seen asparagus grow in October?

It hit 80 in the Detroit area on Sunday. I've noticed a lot less rain, too.

Our tomato plants are still producing. A little straggly, but there are still flowers on them even. I picked a whole bunch of green tomatoes for a green chutney only last weekend.

Flowers are still blooming in NYC, though today is considerably colder - low 60s. : /

Yeah all the Iris are coming up BIG time in the back yard here in southern Canada.... I don't think that's supposed to happen. And none of the Magnolia trees bloomed last spring either. That's the first time that's ever happened that I know of.

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Asparagus has been on sale here the past few weeks, which is nice, because I don't remember it being on sale for long in the Spring.

But truly, wtf.

Northern California. I've been hearing Southern California is a bit hotter than usual though.

I was in a training class in Boston this week, and one thing I noticed that a lot of the trees not only had their leaves, but they had not changed. Usually by the end of October, most trees have shed their leaves and here you see fully green trees. Of course the weather has been incredibly warm. While this week its been in the low 60s, last week it was in the 70s.

Is it global warming, or just a natural weather trend, I don't know but I do know its way too warm for this time of year.

MacosNerd. Where I live in Boston, there is a big walking median separating the directions of the streets with lots and lots of trees. By this time last year, all the tree leaves were brown, red, orange ect now though only a handful of them have the starts of "leaving" seems as if the bigger trees are the ones behind. most of the smaller ones seem to have changed already.

I was in a building on beacon and across from that building was an old (like 300 years old) cemetery. This was near city hall I think, anyways. Those trees in the cemetery were all green and full of leaves.

That's in Boston Commons. I walk past that cemetery every time I go to the AMC movie theater up there. Occasionally you see goth people with cameras taking pictures. If you're into pianos, try looking in the Steinway store in the same area.

Around here (in San Antonio and Houston, Texas) we've had more seasonably cool weather for the last couple of weeks. It gets down to the lower 50s to high 40s overnight, and may edge above 75 in the afternoon. I just love it. Normally we don't have a "fall" season per se, as much as we have a week or two of fall-usually in early December. This year has both been wetter and cooler than any in a long time. It's all related to weather patterns globally, of course. And whether or not we're responsible for the trend in temperatures, we sure ain't helping them. I just wish clothing retailers would start marketing clothing for the next couple of weeks, rather than putting out what they expect to be worn in four months.
