I liked the look of it enough to try it out - and it was very nice. I didn't stick with it, though, because I am one of those anti-transparency luddites.

One little glitch I did notice, though, was that the task progress bars in MT-Newswatcher had an orange background - perhaps a little leftover from the original SimpleX?

Hey swiz, good work! Didn't see this post as I've been a little self-absorbed with my theme. Speaking of which... Where are the images to change the icon|list|column widgets and the back button widget on the toolbar?

Thanks guys.
There shouldnt be any transparency in the theme, or is that what you meant Adam? I'll have to look into the task bar thing. I haven't seen that yet but I'll use that app to see what you mean. Thanks for the heads-up.

Wil, those resources are in "/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Localized.rsrc"
You'll treat this the same as you did the Column resizer.
Be careful to study how Aqua uses them (active,inactive,pressed,disabled) it gets annoying if you dont make note of them first.

Thanks swiz. That worked perfectly! BTW, i've tried themepacker with bad results. I've also tried to create a .dlta file but I don't know what I'm doing. Any advice?

Hey Wil,
Ive also run into problems with Themepacker at various times so I just started writing my own info.plist files from the base file which theme packer creates. So long as you keep the syntax the same as any other "like" resource, you will have no troubles. Just be sure that if you are modifying a resource inside, for example, "Finder.app" that you use this syntax:
<dict>
<key>Name</key>
<string>Finder</string>
<key>editable</key>

<true/>

<key>name</key>
<string>SimpleX 1.5 Silver.theme/Finder.rsrc</string>
<key>prospectivePath</key>
<string>/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/Finder.rsrc</string>
</dict>

and not this:
<dict>
<key>Name</key>
<string>Finder</string>
<key>editable</key>

<false/>

<key>name</key>
<string>SimpleX 1.5 Silver.theme/Finder.rsrc</string>
<key>prospectivePath</key>
<string>/System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/Resources/Finder.rsrc</string>
</dict>

This is because the App you use to switch themes needs to know that it is supposed to be able to penetrate the ".app" contents as opposed to just entering and overwriting files in a folder.

Understandable?

Ive never used "plist editor" but that sounds waaaaay cool. Is it with Dev Tools?

It's probably not as fast/efficient as a text editor. But it removes some of the worry for me

Yes, got it with the dev tools. I'm going to release my theme soon. It won't be nearly complete (still a whole lotta Sosumi runnin around in there). But I think it's a good beginning. I need to create the appropriate Aqua restore first.

PropertyListEditor.app is included with Apple's dev tools. And, yes, it IS waaaaay cool.

By the way, any chance you'll be making a SimpleX Blue?

LOL!! Thanks man. That makes the combined time spent on any theme Ive touched well worth it.
Im sure that is the only time in my life I will receive any comparison to such a revolutionary.
