Okay, it worked fine until I lost my internet connection due to an ice-storm that took out my DSL. I can't figure out why it won't launch. It automatically searches for an internet connection...which it obviously isn't going to find. I disabled everything in the Network preferences pane but that didn't have any impact. Any thoughts???

Most of the time when Filemaker won't launch it's a damaged Preferences file. Preferences in OS X are User specific, so go to: Users>"you">Library.Preferences>Filemaker Preferences>Filemaker Pro 5.5 Prefs. Trash that Prefs file and try launching again. If it launches, it will create a new Prefs file. Good luck.

Have you applied the 5.5v2 patch? On the initial release, I always got an "unexpected quit" if I launched FMPro before any program that used networking/internet.....v2 fixed that and a lot of other little bugs.
