I have a digital system, just got it actually. Coincidentally, I already have it pointed at Telstar 5, which is one of the satellites listed:
Keynote:
- Steve Jobs, Apples CEO
- When: Wednesday, July 17, 9:00 a.m. EDT
- Where: Jacob K. Javits Convention Center
The keynote will be available via satellite:
- Telstar 5/Transponder 19 KU Band
- Orbital slot: 97 degrees west
- Downlink Frequency: 12053 MHz
- Polarity: Vertical down
- Audio Subcarriers: 6.2 and 6.8
- Galaxy 3R/Transponder 13 C Band
- Downlink Frequency: 3960 MHz
- Polarity: Horizontal down
- Audio Subcarriers: 6.2 and 6.8
Question is, does anyone actually know how to GET the signal? Is there going to be some test signal?? at what time will it start? If there are any satellite gurus out there your help would be appreciated! I only got a few hours to prep! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Hmm... I just used the local civic center. Usually, they put out a test signal about 30minutes before the presentation. Then about 15 minutes before, they start showing footage of people going to their seats and all. Then at 9am + or - a couple of minutes ole Steve-a-rene trots out on stage and we have a gig.

I don't think you can watch it on a DTH dish (I assume that's what you have). Correct me if im wrong.

Okay, I'll try to lock onto the test signal tomorrow morning then.
I'm not sure what a DTH dish is (are those the small DirectTV ones?), but I have a big ~4 foot one, so I hope it works!

It's been a long time since I've used a big sattelite dish so I can't help you there.
