I just read this article about the new Intel chips and would like to know if this same chip is in the new Mac lineup. It is utterly disgusting that Intel would do that, but not surprising given the current mentality of the US police state. Here is the link to the article:

This is not news. Intel has marketed vPro for years. IIRC, Intel included the TXT module that is required in the first generation of x86 Macs (where Intel did the designs), but Apple has not included it in its internal designs. I will admit to not having checked it in detail. though. You can go to iFixit and look at the teardowns, if you like.

The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

First, there was paranoia about the TPM. Now, vPro.
IMHO, Tin-foil hatty.

That is the most conspiracy-laden article (and site) I've seen in awhile.
There are lots and lots of real uses for that kind of technology in enterprise environments.
The integrated 3G technology doesn't appear to actually exist yet, at least not in any of Intel's commodity CPUs, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

Good conspiracy theories never die - they're the same thing. TPM is a standard - vPro is Intel's implementation of the same.
