When I'm using my 7 Plus with my AirPods and there are other paired BT devices in range, often I get total silence on the AirPods, and it's extremely confusing. I first make sure audio device is AirPods, but often when a call is made or received, the AirPods are just silent. Has anyone else seen this or do you have ideas how to work around this issue short of turning off all other Bluetooth devices?

I turn off all other Bluetooth devices.

Not joking, I do that. Most of the are battery powered so it makes sense to do so, and the one that is just an adapter to an old iPod speaker dock I pull out when not in use. It was quicker to get in the habit than to try troubleshooting.

(What I think happens is that Bluetooth, being very low power and operating in the 2.4GHz band where water absorbs radiation, is strongly affected by your own body moving between transmitter and receiver. When moving around, sometimes one device disappears completely from the view of the iPhone, and when it shows up again, the iPhone treats it as a "new" device, giving it higher priority. I'm just guessing here, but it doesn't really matter. Having more than one Bluetooth device in the same category paired to the iPhone is problem.)
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Yeah, turning off other devices certainly is nice if you can do it, but if I'm in my car and I want to use speakerphone much of the time but put in a headset for a longer call, I should be able to switch over. I actually didn't seem to have this issue with other Bluetooth headsets, where it goes silent when the AirPods are selected.
