Name it and you shall have it in the next revision. I just spoke to steve and asked him to include a built in laser pointer for presentations. He was so impressed with the idea that he offered two more freebee inclusions, if I can have them in quickly!

In case someone steals your iPod:

-Electricute theif.
-Alarm. So it screams louder than the thief.

And one more, please:

-If the other two don't work, it should fry the theif's computer when they try to connect it to my stolen iPod.

My sources within Apple tell me that Steve is readying an iPod with a fold out spork, so you can listen while you eat.

Ooooh, I like this one.

Honestly though, one thing I think might work would be small cord retractor on the remote or earbuds. A lot of my friends say they hate how there's so much slack between the remote and the earbuds. Course, I wouldn't know since my first gen doesn't support a remote.

Yeah! with ability to record those broadcasts into an mp3 file will be nice. here is an archos player that does this:

so does this one:
http://reviews.cnet.com/4505-6490_7-30571545.html

just look at the price on this one:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...&s=electronics

although I think stevieboy wont approve of this. it will cut into their itms revenue.

I'd like to be able to see what files i have stored on the iPod... so a full directory browsing tool would be helpful for files kept on the ipod.

a "car-pod" version.

will include an airport card in it.

will broadcast music to a 300 feet radius through rendezvous.

also allow you to chat with other cars on the road.

or share music while on the road.

or what the heck, should atleast allow messaging to other ipods in the vicinity.

you get the idea I hope.

Apple will be daft if they dont customize the ipod for car use and sell a new version.

A radio and digital recorder.

Yes I know Belkin has some sort of add on thingie but I want something built in.

A radio would have been so nice to have had during the black out. (provided the ipod was charged..hehehehe).

AM too..I like Talk Radio.

So no one thinks the iPod is eventually going to be apple's pda?

A full color screen. Lots of colors too. This is the only reason why I choose not to pick up a iPod. The LCD screen is so old of a technology it reminds me of my old calculator which is something I rather not remember. If Apple want me to buy a iPod for that much money, at least give me a color screen.

I seriously believe the next generation iPod will have a color screen. People have already mentioned iCal and Photos, but also album art would be a no-brainer for a color iPod.

The only snag would be the battery. Hopefully we'll see battery tech jump forward any time now...

But why? OK, so you could have album art, and look at tiny iPhotos... But is that really worth the sacrifice in battery life and increase in cost. Seems a stupid reason not to buy one. 'now I can see my playlists IN COLOUR!!'

Look forward to the iPod having features like the Palm. To contain a data base of information, such as drugs.

I'm sure they will find a way to increase battery life. I don't care if the damn playlist is in color, what I care about is looking at album art, iPhotos, iCal in color. Also with a color display, I'm sure a lot more software/games would be made for it to take advantage of the color screen. Overall, it'll make iPod much better. It will open up a whole new level for the iPod to be in.

Phones benefitted greatly from color screens. Believe it or not, people actually do enjoy watching pictures and playing games on those devices.

Audio/Video Jukebox

New OLED color screen, and much bigger storage. Maybe the whole thing gets a little bigger, and the face becomes all screen in widescreen format, with buttons on the side or maybe only touchscreen.

Maybe apple puts out a new app first: a mutimedia player like VLC or mPlayer, but better (it plays everything) and it also does all conversions. Maybe it even rips too. Then the new iPod could be a video player that really works well, rising above the assorted junk out now, like the creativelabs stuff. This is like when the iPod first came out, all the mp3 players out at the time were garbage and the iPod defined what an mp3 player should be.

I think there will be pda type apps that come out slowly, first with iCal then more as the market sorts its self out as far as what people want on their phone and what is for a separate device, until everything is on one device (far future).

Maybe the iPod will one day change into a PDA! It sure seems like it's heading that way slowly.
