I like the fact that "iTunes" has become so imbedded in the popular consciousness that it doesn't require any special explanation or promotion - it was treated as an almost incidental aspect of the commercial. That's a good sign, not a bad one.

Clever commercial, too.

Well, most of the people I talk to that don't read computer stuff don't know what iTunes is, or an iPod, or many even what an MP3 is...

Sad...

What I find ironic is that all those kids got busted for stealing music but in the end made money doing a superbowl commercial about it. I supose that it is possible that it was done for free but I doubt it.

I think Apple ahs really started to move in the right direction. Before, their ads were like "Introducinng the new dual 1.25 ghz G4 Powermac. Twice as fast as the Pentium", or whatever. Anybody who understood that would know enough about computers that they would decide for themselves, they wouldn't need the ad. But now, with the whole iTunes, and getting younger people into macs, they're becoming really successful. The ads are now directed at average consumers who just want to listen to music. Go Apple.

It would of been interesting to follow up the ad with one for iLife.

For a strange twist they could of had the kids writing their own music with GarageBand and uploading it to a server like Kazaa.

In reality Apple should lauch a GarageBand type store where people with .Mac accounts can distribute their own work.

It is becoming a rule now that every video Ian Robinson is in will suck. The iLife video is certainly no exception.

Hear that the US is using this video to break the spirits of the "detainees" down in Guantanamo, carefully skirting the whole Geneva Convention thing.

Lol, amuzing video. Very very clever consept. Pepsi knows ad making and this will definitive hit a young generation of Pepsi drinkers right on. With all fuzz around illegal music lately I bet any kid can convince their parents to lend over the vica card for iTMS. I like the consept really, except the stupid bottles at Apples' frontpage.

Sniffer gone old-school sig

It was an OK commercial. Some of the other ones I saw were worse. the majority of them were pretty funny. This commercial I would say was only OK.

If anyone wants to know the Song that they used it the commercial is from GreenDay. I fought the law.
