I've been receiving a lot of emails from Mac users, asking me when more World Of Aqua Rev. 2 material will be coming out - so here is the answer, all done up Apple-style...

preview ? Make something, release it
- then tell everybody about it.
Otherwise you are just another day-tripper...

I agree that I find the recent trend of sneak peaks a little bit disturbing. Not because it's evil, but because there's just too much anticipation now, damnit. I need a break.

Okay, I guess I'd better not post the preview of the other upcoming icon set I was going to announce today... don't want to freak anyone out.

Previews are great, I love to see what is coming up. It's the damn teasers that are just some image in what the designer states is the "style" of the icons/theme that are annoying.
For example, BBX Omega. We've seen, what, 2 images? We've heard talk of what the theme might be but we have no idea. At least with this preview you see the icon and can decide whether you want to be excited about it or not.

Looks nice. Too bad I already have Matrix set in stone.
IS there anyway you couldlikerelease a set of vector images of stuff like the user, developer, document, etc. badges? The badges on the folders?
I always like modding the icons to have them for multiple occasions when the stock won't fit.
And is there anyway you can actually make a detailed account of how you make icons? I want to know how you get the glass, plastic, paper, etc. textures on there.
You should make Matrix apps

Most icons from the Iconfactory can be downloaded as an iContainer, a set of standard Mac icons and a set of standard windows icons...

Komisar are you trying to get your post count up, by asking lots of questions? Of course it will be in iContainer, they invented the iContainer.

It's going to be available as an iContainer, naturally, but I am not planning a CandyBar iContainer. The reason is that they are just folders; it's not a system replacement set. Additionally, while the standard system folders are all there, there are extra folders with unique badges that don't fit into any slot in CandyBar.
Also, people were asking about app icons and such, but I don't often do those. Since the World Of Aqua series is based on the Aqua HI guidelines, they are intended to fit in alongside the icons already on your system. Also, I have absolutely no inclination to remake dozens of application icons - and even if I did, the job would never be done. When I actually do remake an app icon, it is usually because it is an app in my Dock that I use a lot and see all day, and I simply prefer a different icon for it (like Mail, Garageband or Sound Studio).
Sorry if that's a disappointing answer...

Pathetic as I am, I had trouble falling asleep the night before your Matrix Rebooted set was released, now I've got a sleepless May 3 to look forward to followed by a May 4 morning of obsessive iconfactory.com refreshing.

Cool, but I don't understand ow everyone can say how great this is. I can't tell much from your preview other than the general color and style. To quote Simon Cowell, "So what?" It does look professional, in any case

Dave, just wondering if the new set consists entirely of folders or if there are some extra WOA goodies to be thrown in... specifically I'm thinking a 3G iPod icon done up in the same style as the Rev2 Drives? There is a beautiful iPod icon in WOA3, but it's the first gen iPod.

Thanks for the sentiment, but the reality is that I make plenty of crappy icons. Pretty much half of what I do, I put aside and forget because they kind of suck...

I hadn't planned on putting in extras, but I actually already have a revised 3G iPod icon. I was saving it for WOA 5, but maybe you're right. It would fit in nicely with this set...
