When Tiger is released next year will you be one of those waiting anxiously in line at your local Apple store or will you wait a while?

I generally wait a week or so before buying, just to make sure that everything's OK. Unless there's some really big launch event going on that I just HAVE to attend.

My local Apple Store... sniffle... sigh...
Anyway uhh I'll probably head down to the U of M bookstore soon after it comes out, soon as I can get down there and have the cash. I imagine if they release it in the second half of next year, like they said I'll have a job before it so I won't need to save up any cash now for it which is good. I'll probably buy it soon after it's released dono about the day. U of M didn't have any copies for the longest time when Panther first came out. But I will be seriously looking forward to using it

I'll go to the launch at the store in SoHo. Most likely I'll buy it; but even if I don't, I'll go.

I'll be in the middle of law school and it would just be too dangerous. Sure, I could CCC my drive but - but I can't really afford even one night without a functional computer.

I won't be at the launch event, but I will have pre-ordered it, so I will have it the day it is released.

Ill be preordering my copy as soon as possible.
The new features shown at the WWDC did it for me.
Being able to search inside PDF files is what Ive been waiting for.

Heh, I like how the first option encompasses both the people who will buy it on the first day as well as the pirates who will download it and have it installed several days before it's actually released.
Did I miss an announcement on how much it will cost?

Hey now....there's only one U of M and it's in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Do you really drive all that way from Winnipeg?

I chose the 2nd option, but only because it'll take Apple that long to ship and deliver it. I'll install it the first day I have it in my hands, no doubt.

Yes... yes I will.
For me it is about productivity and Dashboard + Spotlight + Smart Folders (Mail/Addressbook/Finder) = lots of productivity gained.
Everything else is just icing.

Oh, but I beg to differ: University of Maine.
Annnnnyway, I'm gonna be in the market for a new computer come Spring '05, so I think I'm just gonna wait until then and get Tiger pre-loaded. I love my TiBook 400 and all, but a lot of the architectural changes in Tiger just won't cut it on the little guy. I'm hoping for a AlBook G5 that fully supports CoreImage and CoreVideo at under $3,000.
The waiting is gonna be painful though.

I will get it eventually. I want to celebrate the new OS X release with a G5 PowerMac - just the low-end one with a 1.6Ghz CPU and a graphicscard that can pull the new features in Tiger such as coreimage and what have you.

I don't think I will upgrade to Tiger unless a powerbook g5 comes with tiger installed.
I didn't like GarageBand's interface. Cute yes but Apple needs to start making things more uniform. Tiger has way too many willy-nilly interface changes for me. I bought panther because of expose and more so Xcode. but Tiger. Spotlight and Dashboard are the features I would like but most likely wouldn't use I don't like the widgets and I don't have a
CoreImage and CoreVideo are great and would love to use them but I need a video card that will support them. The GeForce4 Ti card doesn't work

Yes, it's $129 still.
I'll likely buy it when it comes out but there's a part of me that says wait a bit until any initial bugs are worked out. But a few shots of vodka usually shuts that part of me up.

I don't know if I can justify the $129 until I get more details on it, I'll definately stay tuned though to see what everyone thinks. The big thing to me is the Dashboard, but there are similar apps on VersionTracker I read somewhere. And my powerbook won't need 64bit processing.

Harking back to the whole fw800 bridge disaster I think I will wait until I know all my equipment & applications will still function. Think about it, what are the odds that Retrospect will function on a new OS???
