You people!!! I didnt mean to make such a big deal out of it. I just wanted to say that I found it offensive and still dont understand why people dont care about it. Youre right, I could have just ignored the post, but I felt that it would be best to let the person who posted it know that at least some people can be offended by that kind of thing. Maybe its just that Im old fashioned or something...

Like I said, you dont have to make a big thing out of this. Lets end this odd argument here.

http://www.macsnaps.com usually has some good user submitted wallpapers.

.: 15" PowerBook G4 - 1.5 GHz - 512 MB RAM - ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128 MB VRAM - 80 GB HD @ 5400 rpm :.

@Mods:

Do you think that a thread like this could be made sticky, since this is one of the most common ways of customizing the desktop, and also one of the type of threads that keeps on showing up on a forum like this one.

Just a suggestion...

Could also have a top theme-thread, along with a top-icon-set.

Just this morning I discovered (via Coudal) a nice assortment of desktops by Art Lebedev. Not sure if that is the name of the artist, or the name of a collective since the site is in Russian.

http://www.artlebedev.ru/studio/posters/

I also like what I've found at Twisted Sun and Veer.

THE FOLLOWING LINK IS NOT WORKSAFE, SO IF YOU ARE AT WORK DO NO CLICK ON IT
http://www.skins.be

The website has a mix of photographs, most of them tastefull, but lately they have been posting some pictures of naked chicks.

It's working going to, just make sure your not at work.

Don't forget Howard Sayles' section of The Apple Collection. Very nice "glassy" images, somewhat reminiscent of Layne Karkruff's work from Blue Sky Heart Graphics (back when he was actively creating wallpaper images). I'm especially fond of "Scarab" and "Electric Warrior" (my current desktop pic).

http://howardsayles.theapplecollection.com/

Most of the images are 1024x768, but there are a few 1280x1024 ones as well. Many of them look fine as is at PowerBook resolution (1280x854), but Mr. Sayles is also willing to provide versions in other resolutions (he's modified a few of them for me).

Just my $0.02...

I allready suggested that, but havent gotten any response from mods yet. But still, can understand if they want to keep the amount of sticky threads down, if you make wallpaper-threads sticky, then you should probably also have a favourite icon and theme-thread sticky as well to keep things fair.

As you can tell, I like girls and manga on my desktop usually, but whatever DP I have, it must be high-res and high quailty. Most of my PeeCee owning friends have terrible taste in "Wallpaper". Usually garish, low-res, badly drawn/scanned/captured images from cartoons like Futurama. I know a lot of PC owners that use images as small as 320 x 200 pixels, stretched out across the screen! Apparently they can't see what's wrong with that. Tasteless freaks.

I like the desktopgirls.com and was wondering if there's a stripper available on Mac desktop instead of Windows?

I was actually thinking about this thread the other day. Wondering if anything has happend to it or did it just move on like so many other countless threads. Imagine my suprise to see it still alive and kicking. SuperGeek, SuperNerd, or just plain sad.

Maybe you've heard of the term Personal Accountability? I agree with those who say, "let the individual decide what is pornography and what is not." I can't stand those who want to blame everyone else when they find something inappropriate. If you don't dig it then look away, change the chanel, turn the page, whatever. We all have our own ideas of what we like and dislike. Let's understand that and respect that. You don't have to agree with it and you don't have to put your ideals onto others if you disagree with it. Those who live in glass houses should not throw bricks. Sex is a way of life. The naked human form is a way of life. Deal with it individually. Labeling something is an ignorant person's way of trying to make sense out of something he/she doesn't understand.
Peace,
TheZee

Bobcat Goldthwait did a great comedy routine about this. There was a show that included some non-sexual photos of kids (and adults I believe). It was declared to be pornography and a furor ensued.

paraphrasing BG:
'I want to know what policeman saw the photos and said, "This is pornography because I am REALLY TURNED ON RIGHT NOW"'

What are you calling that green Halo-based theme in your portfolio?

It's doesn't exactly suit my taste, but I'm certain if I were still 14 I'd be drooling all over it..

Can we expect it to ever be completed? I wouldn't hesitate to add it to my collection.

It's called "Mjolnir", I'm not sure if it'll ever be finished, but there's a good chance it will some day. If it's ever made, I'll try and tweak it a bit to fit some of the feedback I've gotten.
That's the topic on my latest theme projects: http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...hreadid=220837 If anything happens with it soon, it'll be posted there.

Now let's not get too off topic.
