Hey all,

I've been slowly developing (sorry for the pun) my photographic eye -- I picked up Aperture the other day, and started building a website for my photos. That said, I was thinking of picking up a tablet to do my edits to photos as well as other fun things like that.

So, for all you pro artists and photogs, could you comment on the best tablet solutions for a budding pro photog?

Thanks a ton...

firstly I need to know your screen size... currently i'm on the Intuos3 6 x 8 and a 23" ACD and it works fine... i might upgrade to the new widescreen 6 x 11 in the future though...

if yours is a widescreen... i'd recommend the 6 x 11 too...

also it depends on how sensitive you want it to be... if u have steady hands... small tablets aren't a big problem...

you must also consider the fact that larger tablets will mean large movements of your hands... so do take that into consideration as well...

Yup!!!
Wacom Tablets Rock!
If you think you draw more using a hand wrist action I'd reccomend either Intuos 6x8 or 9 x 12 size tablet.
If you draw using more of an arm movement then either a Intuos 12x12 or 12 x 19 tablet.
These are going to be much pricier, though.
a friend of mine tried my 6 X8 tablet, but because he is used to drawing more with his arms a larger drawing media, he bit the bullet and splurged on the largest tablet Wacom makes.
The way he uses this tablet is incredible. He draws on this thing just as if he was drawing on large actual paper surface.
I wasn't ready to spend that much so I purchased a 9x 12 tablet and modified my drawing techniques to fit the working tablet area.
Wasn't that much of a big deal for me as I draw on a lot of different size media, anyway.
Could, like my friend, definitely matter, though.
IMHO
