Quickly exported from Pages 1
Some interesting times in there, even in Photoshop it's quicker than the G4 was. And some of those video export/encoding times are outrageous!
The iMac was a USB 2 1.25ghz iMac G4 with 1.25gb RAM and 80gb HDD
iMac Core 2 Duo is the one in my signature (2ghz, 2gb RAM, 250gb HDD).
I hope this might be useful to someone.

This is useful to me as encourgaing and validating news - thank you!
My 20" 2.16/2GB/250GB/256MB is supposed to arrive later this week. It's replacing my 17" 1GHz/1GB/80GB/USB1.1 G4 iMac. So - hopefully I should see even more of a performance boost, given that I'm coming from a slower old machine (1.0 vs 1.25 in both GHz and GB).
I'm going to miss the look of my G4 though. It's still my favorite computer design-wise that I've owned. But I think the performance, and FINALLY having USB2 will make up for it. Time to start planning for a new iPod...
Thanks again.

No problem. I will miss the design too, the iMac G4 is miles ahead design-wise, but oh the SPEED of the new one!!

Sorry - actually we're hanging on to it. We have an old eMac that I use for some light music production and my wife uses for school that we're getting rid of instead. We're keeping the iMac because it's a bit faster and a LOT quieter.
So I guess I won't COMPLETELY miss the design - it'll just be hidden away in the basement...

Holy crap batman, that is fast!
We have an original 800 G4 iMac, which we love, but those numbers are really compelling!

Yes, I know I could buy a PC, but why?

The new one is much much quieter than my old one too, not that I ever thought it noisy at the time, but sheesh, I couldn't wait to turn it off once I was used to the new one.
I just wish it had less chin below the screen...
