No, not a new iMac introduced. A new iMac for me!

This is really just my celebration thread. After months of saving up (my wife's idea: I pay for half, we pay for half), yesterday we walked into the Apple store and walked away with a 24" 3.06Ghz iMac. I'm very pleased with it so far. It doesn't fit in my desk it's so huge.

I've abandoned the mighty mouse for my old Intellimouse Explorer. I just prefer the old one. This is a pretty amazing machine considering it's targeted towards consumers. I'm impressed. Of course I'm making a jump from an 8 year old Sawtooth...

Way to go saving up for it. You will enjoy it much more not having a payment.

Also I just dumped my mighty mouse for a Logitech Mx Revolution. I wish I would have done this right of the bat.

Anyways, enjoy your new imac.

Congrats on the machine!

I just picked the same machine up on Wednesday and I love it.

Don't understand the Mighty Mouse hate though.

congrats! i am looking at my brand new 20" now that is replacing my DEAD mpb as my new desktop computer and I have not even taken the stickers off yet and I am luvin it. Downstairs in the studio the boys use the 24"ers for protools and what not, but this 20 inch fits perfectly where the MBP and istand used to be. good riddance, that laptop was nothing but trouble, unlike the wifes MB which seems indestructible. anyway cheers and see u around!

Very Cool. I recommend the 24" though. It seems from a few different posts around here that the 20"s displays have problems.

hope not. we have the 24"s in the studio and it makes my head hurt. the 20" is a PERFECT replacement for an mbp sitting on an iStand I am totally impressed with the "low-end" new imac. I am using FCP Studio now on it and it's just as good as the mbp was, if not better because of the fantastic display.

How's that? Did you bang a 24" iMac against your head or what?

Congrats...

I just this morning made the switch from PC to iMac. I bought the "low end" model (20", 2.4ghz) but am really excited about it. It is replacing a 5 yr old Dell desktop that I am sick and tired of...

Was too cheap to buy RAM upgrades from Apple, but was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for RAM?

Thanks,
Kevin

Congrats on the new machine. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with it. And REVBCO is right about the payments. I'm sure that's another thing off your mind. Now you can just sit back and enjoy.

Congrats! I'm buying a new 2.66ghz 20" this friday. Glad that I saved up for it, too (even though in the time it took me to save up, it went from 'beginning of product cycle' to 'middle of product cycle'). I make enough monthly payments as it is!

I'm replacing a dual 867mhz mdd g4...I have a feeling this will be a big change.

Oh MAN! I just noticed how pitiful MY sig looks...haha. It's been a while since I have posted here as I haven't had a very 'fresh' mac.
