Doing FTP transfers are now painfully slow in Panther. I can't transfer files reliably via GoLive 6, or from Fetch 4.0.3. I have to turn the firewall off to do so, and even tiny 32K files take a looooooong time to transfer, then time out with an error. I have the passive FTP checked in the Network panel. Is anyone else experiencing this? Things worked great in 10.2.8, and GoLive didn't even care if I had the firewall on.

I was setting up an new web based email account that came with an ftp file service. I had problems with it,, it took forever to connect to the server. I tried to close the window and it wouldn't. I tried to force quit but it wasn't an option. Not sure what the problem is,,, could be the mail provider I guess.

It turned out to be a problem on the DSL line, that appeared about the same time I installed Panther. Everything's working great now!
