A sign spotted by a Mac user at the new Paradise Walk Apple Store in Chongqing , China may have leaked the changes coming to the next lineup of 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro, with the most dramatic being the bump up to 16GB of RAM as standard on all models, even the low-end unit. Assuming the sign is correct, all three models of Retina MacBook Pro will bump around 200MHz in speed, with the line jumping to 2.2GHz, 2.5GHz and 2.8GHz, respectively. It is assumed that the RAM in the Retina models remains non-upgradeable.

Both the mid-tier and high-end Retina models will still use the Nvidia GeForce GT 750M discrete graphics card with 2GB of VRAM, alongside the integrated Intel Iris Pro graphic chipset for standard duty purposes. The low-end model will only have the Iris Pro as it does now, and will still come with a 256GB SSD. The new mid-tier model (formerly the high-end standard model) doesn't change except for the processor upgrade, and the new high-end model is similar to the previous maxed-out custom build, with a 2.8GHz Core i7, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

The pricing for the models suggests (once the yuan-to-dollar discrepancy is accounted for) that Apple will maintain the same prices on the models as it has now. A true release date for the updated MacBook Pros has not been revealed, but the presence of the sign in a China store may suggest an imminent release, perhaps as soon as early August. Apple is also expected to upgrade the non-Retina MacBook Pro line as well in the near future, though in the case of the non-Retina models, RAM is upgradable.

Doubtful Apple would retain the 750M as the GPU...better options are out there with low power usage and faster graphics processing.

Unless of course they are in the process of phasing out discreet GPUs altogether ...
