ok, since there isn't a way to control the different frequencies of the sound output for a mac, does anyone know of any control panel or similar application that would let the user control the audio hardware inside the mac?

ex. if one has trouble adjusting with the balance control on their speaker, is there a way, from the mac, to control bass/treble control...

Don't know if a control panel exists, but it's definitely possible. Certain applications, like Quicktime 4 or Soundjam have built it bass/treble controls, and the latter has an equalizer. But that's only for within those applications.

yup, soundjam is the one i use... really, there's isn't a use for a equalizer cause there isn't sound constantly flowing out... usually a sound file is edited, but just wondered...
